I am working on Revell Cutty Sark 1:96 and had seen a video suggesting a white pinstripe from auto parts place instead of trying to paint the white line along the hull. Has anyone tried it and how were the results. The actual area for the stripe is raises which gives me concerns with adhesion.
Personally, I haven’t had good luck with adhesive tape staying put. I like to base coat in the color of the stripe then use the appropriate width of tape for the stripe and burnish the heck out of it to get my hull stripes.
Alan1,
If you have the new “ship Modeler’s Handbook” from FSM there is a “How To” article on page #24 on how to paint a waterline on a ship’s hull.
