Pictures- Me 163 w/ SG 500 Jägerfaust?

I just discovered this totally interesting weapon that was installed in six Me 163 Komets. Details are here:

Anyway, because I have a Me 163 on the bench, I was wondering if I could add this weapons system to it. I was curious if there were any pictures of this installed in an airframe. I would assume that (externally) all I would need is a few holes in each wing (if that is where they were mounted), but it never hurts to be sure. Thanks for any information!

Very interesting!!!

Like wise, very, very interesting.

Disposable counterweight barrel- it all seems to make logical sense.

“Barrel projects 3-5 cms above the wing” thats about 1 1/4-2 inches high in real size 1/48-1/24 inches in 1:48th scale. Not quite sure how you would represent that in model form, possibly hypo needle/fine steel tube for cleaness of cut etc, but where to position them?

That is truely wacky. It’s absolutely amazing what they came up with in the war.

This is what I found in one of mine books: SG500 Jagdfaust consisted of five vertically mounted firing tubes in each wing root; each containing 50 mm shell. The system fired in a salvo and was activated by the shadow of the target passing over a light cell. System was fitted to 12 Me-163B’s but although these were not issued for operation, this unlikely weapon destroyed B-17 on one occasion. Gumiflex
