Nice pics…but where’s the rest?
I’m not sure what you mean; there’s a link to the gallery right at the bottom of the first post.
Gotta love the ROCKET FLEA!
Even fleas gotta fart!!!
“Like A Flea But OHO!” One of a couple of logos that the ME-163 Squadrons used. If your interested there a book called “Komet” by Mano Zeigler (I think thats how you spell it) absolutley fantastic book. Great pics BTW, Thanks for sharing
Benzdoc, Great set of detail photos. You certainly crawled all over that place. Your fellow modelers should take advantage of your hard work. Great work. Rick.
[:$][sn0ps] My bad, tottally missed it.
Good stuff! Thanks for posting all those. The last time I was there, about 12-14 years ago, their B-17 was in near-derelict condition. Did they ever get it cleaned up? I saw it taxiing under its own power, the first time I was there, in '71, but she sure had gone to seed by the mid-90’s.
Thanks guys, I’m glad you were able to have a look!
Wabashwheels: There was almost no one there, so I may have jumped the barricades and took a few up close…
styrenegyrene: The B-17, Piccadilly Lilly II, is undergoing restoration; and they are collecting funds to help. They have a huge job in front of them! It would be great to see that thing fly again.
Until next time, have a great holiday weekend!!
I was there about a year ago and that poor '17 is in terrible shape, really sad actually, a place lucky enough to have one and it looks about a step from the junk yard
Well, it may have been in terrible shape when you saw it; but they are working really hard on it. From the bomb pay rearward, it looks pretty good…
However, there is a lot more work to do!
Thanks for the shares [:D]
Andrew
Thanks for the updated pics, Benzdoc. You sure can tell where they’ve worked on her and where they haven’t! That’s got to be a multi-million dollar project. Thank goodness! I was afraid there’d be nothing else for me to spend my money on!
Great photos, especially the detailed close ups. Thanks for posting.
