You know how when you turn your head sideways and something you need falls out? That’s what happened…
So I used my wife’s account. Works every time.
OK. I have a habit of getting very close to finishing a model and then saying “I’m ready to do a base, and then I’ll do the finish-up” and then dropping the project, for whatever reason. So I started a couple of display bases for models that were “almost done”. Now it’s time to finish the bases and models, so as to tie them in, with crew figs and final weathering. Without further ado, here are the two I’m currently engaged with.
First, the Magach 6B-Gal I’ve been working on for many moons. It’s posed hull down, northern Israel, in an over-watch position. Two figs are in progress, and the based will be lightened a lot, with final dusting done on the base and tank.
And then a Pershing, done for the fairly recent GB, posed on a RR grade crossing, under repair or construction by recently-departed Germans

Love the look of that Magach, the reactive armour is sharp. Good job on the Pershing as well, the tracks dropping a little as they cross over the tracks is really slick. [Y]
Camera - I actually like the colour you’re getting from the non-flash pics. Have you tried using a tripod? You could also just set the camera down on something solid & use a timer, if there is one, to help with the focus.

I was in too much of a hurry to clear a good place to shoot this morning, so I tried the flash to darken the background. The non-flash pics are actually pretty close to the actual colors.
I really need a tripod. Camera has a timer, which would help me get my shaking coffee hands out of the pic hugely. I did set it on a yogurt cup, but still managed to shake it up…
Yep, if you have a timer use it. I was getting some camera tips from a local pro a few months ago. For still shots, he recommends the timer, even on a tripod. That way there is no chance of a finger wiggling the camera at all.
Either way, I really like the slopes you have used on those bases, it gives them a little bit of movement.
They’re both excellently done and posed in the best way.
