Photobucket hacked!

It’s not the first time this has happened, but photobucket seems to have been hacked today. [V]

Everything may be fine once the pirates are disposed of, but be prepared to have to upload all your images again as the hackers may have deleted everything. Sometimes photobucket backs up pro acccounts, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Most importantly, keep a close eye on what happens because previous hackers have replaced users’ images with rather obscene ones, so all your model pictures might be displaying tomorrow as a different kind of model pictures. [:O]

Just thought I would let everyone know.

Jonathan-Thanks for the heads up. I just checked Photobucket and it still appears to be in the hackers hands.

Mine’s fine–I just checked, and I have removed my address from my signature.

Hmmm—probably the trolls who saw the thread in “Odds and Ends”???

Doog I think you might be right mine’s fine.I was going to post my sig later when when I had seperated my build photo’s.I guess it’s a good thing I’m a turtel when it come’s to this computer stuff.

a no go from here. Can’t get in but I see that my posts still have their pics in there.

Here’s one way to know if there’s a problem with your images look on any of your posts and if your images are not there or some thing elsa is you know what’s up. An one more thing pull all your links from were ever you have them if you have no changed you pass work to the new style. Like this the old way: top hats (tophats) New way (toPhATs). Some time’s this will help you block a hacker. But if the hacker was one of the Tech guys from Photobucket an lost there jobs then there’s no help for any of us.[yuck] I look all through my album no unknown images and it’ work fine.

Did some of my look over or delete that E-Mail from Photobucket some months ago tell you to change your pass to keep hacker’s at bay.

All looks good on my end. Pretty scary. Don’t people have anything more worthwhile to do?

My account is untouched, and so I didn’t feel like changing my password.[:)] Though I probably should have.

pheww, when i checked my account, it said i was logged in as “magellan_photo”… I’m pretty sure megallan died in the 15th century, and i’m pretty sure i’m still alive.

Boy, i thought my photos were gone, but they’re fine.

tanks (get it? i know lame) for the heads up!

You probably got that because the last time you looked at Photobucket directly (rather than thru pic links on here), you looked at T-Rex’s album (his name is Magellan) and had to enter his name and password. I had the same thing happen. There is another thread somwhere here where he gave his user name and password out (not a good idea).

No problems here.

once again…another reason why paid members should be able to upload pics directly to an “fsm” pic server. I’m on a couple other forums and they all have pic storage capability. they’re even “low-key” forums. FSM has to be a heavy-weight contender. What would it cost? If a couple “no-names” can handle it, why can’t FSM???

First and foremost, it would eliviate the inevitable “pic not found” BS. If FSM would host the pics, some newbie like myself, wouldn’t be “greeted” with the old “picture not found” …errrr…stuff. [:(]

maybe its me, but FSM is a “REFERENCE”. Charge me to view and post pics, but have a place to archive the EXCEPTIONAL work posted to the forum. To require outside sites as links to pics has always irked me to no end. [:(]

Yup! I’m screwed! My link is to a site that uploaded cookies to me, my pic links are x’s and I have to delice the old computer. Times like this I’d like to be Gimli with his axe: one…two…three…four…

Well it seems to be working fine for me again. Apparently the hackers only managed to mess with some DNS entries for photobucket, rather than actually hack the main server. Should be working for everyone pretty soon. [;)]

Same here. No apparent problems.

[:)]

Well, both my account and pics have been eradicated…Oh well.

oh, bummer. Hopefully you’ve still got them on your computer
