Photo-etched alphabets?

I sure wish I could get my hands on some etched brass lettering. The particular application I have in mind right now is the name and port of hail for the ship model I’m working on. Ideally, the letters should be 1/16" high, Roman font. I’ve experimented with dry transfers and waterslide decals from Walthers, but I think brass would look a lot better.

If no such thing is available - well, it ought to be. A reasonably-sized sheet of etched metal could hold several hundred letters and numbers in different fonts and sizes, and would be useful for all sorts of things.

Cottage industries - are you listening?

There are quite a few sets available, apparently. Your post made me curious. Try

The armor guys who are really into detail, use them to make foundry casting marks on their turrets, mantlets etc.

I see some in there advertised as “2mm”. That’d be close

I’ve never used them, but now you have me thinking…

Or you can create your own and have the following company produce them for you.
