Photo etch tools

Hello, looking for A photo etch bending tool there are quite a few to choose fro, l don’t want to break the bank but would like to have a quality and practical tool. Most of my builds are 1/48 th any advice would be great. Thanks

I’ve used a Jewelers anvil to bend metal parts and photo etch. Its a versatile tool with straight and round edges for forming, bending, shaping and is perfect for flattening round stock. Very affordable cost wise, $10 plus free shipping on Amazon.

I picked up a small set of jewelry pliers at Hobby Lobby (jewelry making section) for under $15. Has a couple of pairs of flat nose in it that are useful to me. You can also use a hard flat surface, like a piece of glass, and a couple of single edge razor blades. One to hold the PE at the bend line and the other to slip under and make the bend.

Take a look at Micro-Mark and see if they might have something that would fit your budget and needs.

Thanks will check it out.

If you’re looking for a versatile bending tool, check out the Small Shop products. I have their 4" Mk. IV model and have found it to be very versatile and easy to use on everything from tiny parts to long straight pieces. You can get them from Sprue Brothers to name one source. I bought mine on eBay for about half of retail.

Happy modeling!
