Hasegawa quarter scale vietnam-era Phantom F4:…all comments welcomed…
Wow, really nice! One suggestion: You did great on the panel lines, but may I suggest a light wash in the wheels? It would really make them pop!
The phantom is one of my favorite jets, and in the SEA camo scheme it looks MEAN. Great job, Eric!
Excellent! Really nice camouflage.
Wow, nice job Eric! Your skill with airbrushing never ceases to astound me. [tup]
Gee Eric that F4 C/D looks pretty naked where are the bombs [:P]
Looks fine the way it is… nice and lean… ready for a fight. Nice job MR.
Wow beuatiful job!
Very nice Man,
The interior is really impressive. That’s one mean lookin Phantom.
Chris
This Phantom is very pleasing to the eye. Obviously, very well built. The only issue that I see, (and it’s really no fault of yours) is the off register decals, (national insignia). Great job, this looks like 1/32nd scale work.
regards,
Steve
To use the overused word…“Awesome”!
The cockpits…are just too much!
Most of my walkarounds while in the service were on Navy a/c with grey topsides…but occasionally a VMF squadron would fly in and I would have to go look.
The camo brings all that back!
Nice! The a/c is wearing a TUX!

Mikeym, Did you notice the tail code??? Eddies planes don’t carry a lot of weapons and then usually only practice or experimental so Eric actually over did it with the sidewinders BUT you have to have something under those wings for looks!!!
Good Hunting, G.W.
I was wondering which paints you used particularly the tan. I am painting a SEATAC camo at the moment, getting frustrated with Humbrol 117, which brushes ok, but when airbrushed, dries in a variety of tones (and I’ve tried different thinning ratios and thinners, even).
Amazing looking build. You have very impressive model building skills. The F-4 Phantoms on static display at JRB in Fort Worth , Texas , don"t look elegant like the other aircraft on display such as the F-86, F-16, F-14, what they do look like is All Business. They look mean and ready to fight , just like your build. Thanks for showing.
Great work on my favorite jet of all time MR!! Camo is looks sweet and the pit does too!! Have you changed your lighting? Just wondering cause these look like some of your best pics, white balance seems to be just right!
wow! INCREDIBLE cockpit!! awesome job - i wish i could build one like that. quarter scale? how many hours do you think you put into that beast?
Thanks, I configured to be strictly in the fighter-escort role, so no bombs…only sparrows and sidewinders…
…added a new pic showing inside of tailpipes…
It’s an F-4E isn’t it?
To be honest, I don’t know for sure…it is supposed to be the first model that carried the internal cannon…it is modeled after Ritchie’s a/c but I’m pretty sure his didn’t have the shark’s mouth (I just couldn’t resist that decal)…and F4 experts out there that can help?
If it’s the first model with the in-built M-61, then it’s the F-4E. The C/D carried a gun pod if they were lucky.
Now, to my last unanswered question: - what paints did you use? I’m particularly interested in the tan.
