Phantom II oxygen hose?

Hi all.

I’m in the Phantom II GB and I’m trying to get the cockpit finished. I need to know where the pilot’s oxygen hoses go. I know it goes from the mask to the safety harness bracket to the left, but don’t know where it goes from there. There appears to be a part in my aires resin seats where they might lead to. Other than that, no idea.

Thanks!

If you’re not going to have the helmet and oxygen mask in the seat, you probably can get away without having the oxygen hose. There is a panel on the side of the cockpit which the oxygen is supplied and controlled. I believe it is left side well aft of the throttle quadrant.

The oxygen hose is mounted on the right side of the seat. It is connected to a CRU-60P along with the emergency oxygen hose and communication leads. The CRU-60P connects to the right harness strap by way of a V shaped mount. The pilots oxygen hose and comm leads connect to the CRU-60P On the left side of the seat there is another connection for the pilots G suit hose.

thanks guys.

Berny, I’m a bit confused. The pilot supplied in my Revellogram kit had his oxygen hose molded onto his body and it goes down to his left and in-between his elbow and waist. Does the hose double-back behind the pilot in-between him and the seat and to the right? Or is it all situated to the right side meaning Revellogram is inaccurate with this?

Cheers!

The supplied pilot could be a generic pilot and may be correct for another aircraft. If it was conncected to the left side on the F-4 pilot then the hose would have to be routed across his chest restricting his movements. For a F-4 pilot/WSO it would be incorrect.

I think it was what Berny said about the generic Pilot/Wizzo combo… Monogram didn’t always make a unique figure for each aircraft… You’ll find “clones” all the time… Some examples are the P-51B/P-47D/Typhoon, the Kingfisher/P-40B/P-38, A-4/F-4, etc… Some were unique though, like the AH-64 pilot and gunner figures (due to the distictive, aircraft-slaved flight helmet worn by Apache crews (which in the real world, BTW, cost $14,000 (that’s a “14” with three zeros, not a typo**)** dollars a copy with all electronics and NODs), P-51D, F-104, and Huey Hog crews…

Not a hard fix for the Phantom Phlyers though… Simply grind/shave the molded hose away from the body and mask, then make a new hose by winding a piece of wire around a straight-pin and then re-position it on the correct side… Then fill in the missing areas of the survival vest and seat harness with a bit of masking tape and some putty…
