My good camera was sent back to the factory, so I just set the thing on my scanner (the fingerprint near the firewall is on the scanner glass - drove me nuts trying to find it!). And clearly the motor is not mounted.
This was supposed to be a quick OOB for my son’s room - I’ve learned 2 things here: I can’t bring myself to build OOB anymore, and my wife is right, I’m very Obsessive/compulsive.
On the todo list tomorrow is to finish detailing the motor - then I should finally be about ready to close it up (I’m sure something else will find it’s way onto the todo list before then though).
very nice details on this build, 1/48th scale? I like the control wires. But does it bother you that once you close it up, you can’t see them. is tha the compulsive part?
Thanks for the comments guys. It is 1/48th, and I did sluff off on a little bit of detail because you can’t see it when it’s closed (which it is now BTW). But it doesn’t bug me (I guess that is what makes me obsessive), if you shine a flashlight in there you can see most of it though.
Here’s some updates:
Here it is right before I closed it up:
motor detail before paint:
Its tough to see those spark plug wires from the outside, but the lifters and the scratchbuilt components are very prominent.
The scanner is brutally honest! Then again, I can’t believe I bought this kit on my way home from work on Friday, and I’m closing it up on Sunday. What a fun kit it’s been though, now I really can’t wait for that 1/48 DH2 profipack!
