which do you use? and if you are using glue, what kinds?
Rest assured, I’m not suggesting you solder brass to plastic (although it is something I could see myself doing - much in the same way I once put a model in the oven to speed drying)

PE to PE or to plastic or resin – I usually use medium viscosity (CA) cyanoacrylate glue (super glues). Granted, most of these parts are meant not to take any weight at all. CA has very poor shear strength. I’m not accomplished at soldering but used it to assemble the LionRoar brass gun sheild for my DML 8.8cm Flak 36.
If you need more time or require more strength than CA, some people use epoxy resin. I’ve not found an occasion for this though. For me, it’s strictly CA or soldering.
The best answer is industrial super glue. It’s impregnated with microscopic rubber particles making it much more shock resistant. It’s also black meaning any self-decoration will be very obvious[:-^]
I solder. Well, I just started. It’s tough to get used to, but you know it’s strong when you drop a whole PE Fender assembly, and it just bounces.
When a PE-to-Plastic bond is needed, normal CA or Epoxy is my choice.
