PBY Catalina floats question

Hi there guys! I´m working in a 1/72 PBY 5-A Catalina and i´m trying to add some details in certain areas, my question is any of you guys know is the internal wing cavity (were the wing float accommodate when is in the up position) is smoth or have some raised details such as ribs… I can´t find any picture of that area

sorry about my English, hopefully you will get my question LOL

Thanks!

Some pix here

for the most part smooth.

The best pic, I could find. Don’t forget the static wicks on the trailing edge!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but they are normally retracted when the gear is down, except for preflight inspection. But it does look cool. Very slick a/c, fermis. Like those blown blisters.

Thanks a lot guys, the pics were realy helpful.

Bondo: I´m not sure about the position of the flotes when the bird is on the ground, I think you are correct, I have some pics that shows parked Catalinas with down floats, but as you said it can be for inspection…

I think it looks cooler with the floats in the down position, but I think now I will model those things up to be sure… I like the way the model is turning and don´t want to ruin with a thing like that…

best regards and thanks!
