Hi all, Just wanted to pick some brains. How many use wet paper mask? I used it once from a kit it came with and it worked well. I have some tight cerves to do and figuer that I can cut them easier on paper than tape. Also I can duplicate port to starboard. I know that you an get some, but I want to learn to make my own. Any sites or help would be greatfully recieved. Thank you and keep on building, Aardvark On the bench: 1/48 Testors Lear 24 & Hasagawa P-51D
Intriguing, could see how would work with oil-based paints ala enamels. Would have to know what kinds of paper for sharp lines or feathered depending on desired paint effects. Yet another painting technique will need to experiment with.
I use tissue paper a lot for inside cockpits when I am painting before mounting canopies. I stuff (carefully) the tissue into the cockpit, then wet the surface so it stays in place and does not shed.
I use unwet paper for masking a lot. If I want a mask to cling to the surface of the model, I use plastic wrap. I use tape along the demarkation line, then the plastic wrap over larger areas to save masking tape. I tape the plastic to the masking tape along the demarkation line.
