Panzerkampfwagen VII Lowe ~ Amusing Hobby #35A005

A recent build I just finished. I’m trying to depict a very late war theme, or a what if 1946, right out of the factory. I got the idea for the paint scheme from a picture of a jadgpanther I saw. All painted using MM paints, dunkelgelb and rot braun. Coated with future and oil washed. Umber tracks with a silver rub-N-buff for antiques.

Nice build David, with a bold looking camo paint job! I really like the speckled look of the turret. Did you do that yourself or does the turret have a heavy cast texture that catches the oil wash and creates the speckles?

Hey, I’ve got this kit but it’ll be a while until I get around to it. You did a really good & clean job but you gott’a know I like 'em “washed and worn”… …interesting finish here nonetheless.

When I do eventually built this kit, I’m gonn’a move that commanders turret hatch to the left so he won’t get his vitals crushed !http://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/images/smilies/dizzy.gifwhen his big gun does its thing.

Ernest, the kit came with the cast texture on the turret.

Dave

That’s a fantastic looking model—what a beast! Love the paint job, and it’s very well executed too.

One thing you might want to know—it’s been a hot debate in the modeler./historian world about what color was used for priming gun barrels, and I think it’s pretty much been determined that barrels were primed in a dark charcoal gray instead of the red primer used around the rest of the tank. Just something to consider if you want to enter this fine model into a contest anywhere–the judges might “ding” you on accuracy on the barrel. In any case, it would be a simple fix–just a bit of black mixed into Panzer Gray would do it and then run the barrel very lightly with some graphite powder to complete the look

Now that’s really nice. I like the scheme.

Did you just paint the turret as normal to keep the effect. I have to get myself one of these.

Awesome, perfect straight lines!!

It looks like a practice target…

Clean and straight!

Me like it…

I really like the way it looks, keep up the good work!
