Anyone know of a decent drawing or a photo of the turret basket? Doesn’t have to be high-quality, I just need to see an over view of it…

Hope this helps.
Thanks for the help, but that’s not what I was looking for… The turret basket is the part of the turret that the crew sits in or stands on inside the turret… I really need to see what’s open at the front to allow access to the driver/radio compartment, or if there’s a bulkhead in there, and if the basket is steel-mesh or plate or a combination of the two… I’m scratch-building yet another interior…
I just found this site last week. Lots of interior shots but dunno if it has the one you need.

HvH, the turret “basket” was completely open, there are three rod supports for the floor that connect up to the turret itself and a round circular treadplate as the base. There isn’t any sort of bulkhead separating the turret from the driver/radio compartment, just various ammo storage bins and gun equipment that would be in the way. Let me see if I can find a pic or diagram to post.
HvH,
These might help you out…they show the interior turret basket looking towards the right side. You can see the commander’s seat as well as the gunner’s and the base of the tread plate.
In this shot, you can see a cut-away diagram showing how the turret and basket fit into the hull.
Both of these come from Spielberger’s Pz IV and Variants and are for discussion purposes only. You can clearly see that below the turret ring the entire “basket” is open all around although under the gun portion of the turret there are elements of equipment that are between the basket and the front compartment for the driver/radio operator. Outstanding, Bill! That’s exactly what I was looking for… Tausend Dank…
My pleasure! Anything to serve the Dark Side of the Dark Side. [;)]
It wasn’t one I needed until you showed it, Wing_nut! [tup] Way to go… Thanks, man… There’s half a dozen there I can use… Especially the transmission & cupola… I winged it before on the driver/radioman compartment…
Dragon supply a basically correct turret floor in their Pz 4 D kit. See here:
