Panzer II pics.

I just got done building this Tamiya Panzer II. I built and painted the tank and my dad painted the tank commander is working on the figures that came with it so we can put it in a diorama. Hope you like and as always comments are welcome.[:D]

Great looking Pz II!! What two colors are the camo? I like it

not bad, i like the real subtle difference between the sand color, and the cammo color

Cool paint job on the Pzll! Can’t wait to see the dio!

Steve

The camo colors are Polly Scale Lt. Tan and US Desert Stor Sand.

Nice build. I like the subdued effect on the finish. Good job on the comander, looking foward to the diorama also. [tup]

Looks good from here. Both you & your Dad do good work !

Regards, Rick

Congrats to both of you on the build. I’m looking forward to seeing the dio.

Nice job on an old kit. It’s great that you two are working together on it, make sure you post pics of the dio.

Thankyou all for your comments and as soon as I complete the Diorama I’ll post the pix.

[#ditto] on the cool camouflage scheme!!

Ooooh, nice camo scheme! Do you have any specifics (unit, division, etc.) for it? I’m working on this kit too and wondered whether I should paint the rubber on the road wheel strapped to the front of the tank or paint over it with the camo scheme like you did. Anyone have an answer to that question? I haven’t been able to find a photo that shows this clearly…

Anyway, very nice job!

Looks Great!!! Like the cammo pattern…

I’d paint the wheel rubber myself, one reason is I like contrast.

Good job ygmodeler. The camo is nicely applied and compliments your build. One tiny observation and it could just be the photos, but I think that both gun barrels should be gun metal, no base. I paint flack black and dry brush metallic grey myself. Some use silver. Sorry if it is just my computer screen. Look forward to your N. Africa dio.

Thanks Tigerman i painted it gunmetal but i must have painted over it without thinking. I’ll fix that before the dio.

Really nice job. I especially like the Camo. Very well done.

Ted

Really nice job! Can’t wait to see the finished product!

You’ve done a fine job on your Panzer II, and as stated by all the camo job is first rate. It’s great that you are able to work with your father on a project like this! Those are some of the best memories I have of my father. Now it’s time for you guys to bite off a “Tiger” or a “Panther”, I think you’d really surprise us, you’re a rising star. Thanks for sharing with us. Semper Fi, mike

yw18mc I built a tiger 2 awhile ago if you want to see the pics here is the link.

Nice work, yg. I looked at your Tiger II also. It was a nice job, but you’ve really come a long way with your camo!

I built this puppy, too, although not quite oob. Here’re a couple of pics of the way mine came out. I got too much sag in the port track and still need to take a length out. Not the easiest of things to do with super glued Friul tracks!

One very little thing, which I did wrong, too. I believe the inside of the commander’s hatch sould be flat white or interior buff. Also, there was a deep redish brown leather pad that sat in the center of the inside of the hatch. (This will also cover the pin ejector mark in the hatch!) This, again, is something I didn’t know about until after I’d finished mine. (Looking at the second pic above, I think I might have put the stupid hatch on upside down!! How “cool” would that be?? lol

Really a terrific job. Congrats.
