Panzer 38t in progress

Italeris 38t. 1/35. Fun little build. Had its moments but its almost finished.
I had to modify the periscope. The machineguns are lengths of heavy guage wire that were wrapped with fine wire. The kit guns were horrible.
The main gun was turned from plastic on a miniature lathe I built for my drill press. The suspension was scratchbuilt and there were some gap problems. But all in all I liked this build. Now just to finish it. Still has some stowage that needs to be put on, the tracks and then a simple display base.

Let me know what you guys think.

Nicely done, Mke! I’ve always liked the Praga!

Very Well done Mike love the shading work on the tarp rolls, and the Muffler just looks so real! Excellent job!

Looks really, really great, Mike. Very realistic overall appearance.

The weathering is superb!

Nice, Mike, very nice. A very interesting little tank…

killer job, I like the canteens hanging and the exhaust looks so real, it definately looks lived in.

excellent work Mike, got that kit myself, so it’s rather annoying that you’ve set an exceptionally high standard [:D]

Awesome job, Renarts !! [tup]

Great weathering on the wheels and undercarriage and everything else !

More pics !!!

Looking good, Mike!

I like it! I like it!

Please post some more pictures when your finished.

As always, superb job there!

Nicely done Mike … take a bow !!!

I’ll leave it at that after toying with your mind last night over this build. [:-,]

VERY nice indeed renarts. Super job. I like the weathering a lot…

Great looking kit…
Ive built that kit and enjoyed it as well. ( it didn’t look half as good though! )

Regards, Dan

Top notch work as always Mike. What kind of tracks are you going to put on?

…total…jeffl

Excellent Mike!! Very well done on all of it!. Can’t wait to see the finished product.

Eric

Thanks guys,

Tigerman: For now I’m going to use the kit supplied vinyl. All of the aftermarket tracks for this kit are $30 and up. Kind of a quandry…do I put tracks costing twice as much as the kit on it? I haven’t ruled it out completely but I’ll mount the vinyls so that if I change my mind later I can. Maquette produces some aftermarket tracks but before I buy those just want to see what they look like. (They may not be better than the vinyls but certainly cheaper and more palatable)

Robert: I stared at it for an hour today…Good job. You win on that round [;)]

Soon as its finished I’ll post some more pics.

I have the Maquette version of this kit as well and I want to build it after the Sherman build. Try out some new stuff.

As much as I love the exhaust, a couple of conversations have left me with the feeling I shouldn’t have rusted it that much. I think the next one I’ll leave in better shape. The concensus seems to be that the germans were pretty good about keeping them wiped down and the rust to a minimum.

Cool! Great job, Mike. I like the way you weathered the model. Very impressive indeed.

Great job Mike! Excelent!
