great job! what version of the panther is it and whats the story behind it?
Very nice dio. Not the usual subject. Wonderfully executed. The textures look mighty realistic. Great job.
Very well done! [tup]
Top drawer work, Jan! [:D]
Wow Jan, impressive work. Really convincing figure work and layout. A+ work.
It looks like the Italeri A Late with the molded on zim.
Fabulous work Jan. Really nice groundwork. What’s that square panel on the right rear of the turret for?
I really like the base and weathering on the Panther. Tigerman, I would say that the square on the turret is a repair job done in the field…and I think it looks great. Very nice touch.
Cheers
Rob
i think i need an explanation for this one
hey jan[:D]-- man that is an outstanding job!! the zimm on the turret and ‘repair patch’ look really great-- the spent shells – man what a great dio---- what really sells it to me is the great expression on the soldiers face in pic #4[tup][tup]-- an awsome awsome dio— i really enjoyed viewing it— treadwell[8D]
Outstanding! I too would love to know the story behind the dio.
Thank you all for your nice comments [:D]
The story:
This is a ‘pantherstellung’, a dug in panthertank, used to defend the reich in 1945. The germans used these makeshift fortifications all over cities to hold their ground, but obviously failed as they were easily knocked out. At the end of the war when recources became scarce they used anything they’d get back from the front. This is a panther ausf.A (late) which has the turret fitted from another tank (hence the different zimmerit and paint [;)]) The square plate at the back of the turret is a penetration welded over by a steel plate.
The model:
This started life as two leftovers in my sparesbox [swg]
It is the hull from italeri’s late A, combined with the turret from Tamiya’s early G. The zim on the turret was made with putty, the hull’s came with the kit. Detailing was done using scraps of pe, brass wire and mesh. Figures are from the tamiya set with resin replacement heads from my spares.
I’m glad you all liked it [swg]
Cheers from Holland, Jan [:)]

Really great work Jan,some really nice detailing and weathering.
A heck of a way to use spares and leftovers!!! [tup]
Really well done Jan, considering you build all that from spare parts.
