Folks-I have been modeling for a few decades-mainly Allied armor-so painting has been easy-Olive Drab.I have a Panther model now and I am ready to paint. Here’s the challenge-I don’t have any of my airbrush equipment due to recent move in military. I can use a spray can pretty good-any ideas on how to acheive a good camo look? I plan on base of the German yellow-drab color with a camo of the proper green color. Any ideas?

Well, you could spray the dark yellow basecoat on, then mask off a camo pattern with tape, silly putty, or any masking medium of your choice, and spray on your camo colors. It might be difficult to get soft edges with masking, but you certainly could create a hard-edged camo no problem.
I’ve never tried it myself, but I understand a good soft-edged effect can be achieved by applying a slightly raised mask (raised with rolled tape or silly putty) and spraying with the can at 90% angles to the masks.

I did a great paint job on a Panther A before I got my airbrush.
I sprayed a base cote of dark yellow with a can and put green & brown spots on with a cotton bud (I,m not sure but do you Americans call them “Q” tips) that I,d teased appart.
I,m sorry but I cant post any pics but it turned out great.

Some of the late Panther G’s had a splinter pattern of green and red-brown over dark yellow. Would be “relatively” easy to do with tape. And all the edges were straight and hard lined on the 1:1 Panthers.

Try finishing your panther in a brush painted scheme, such as this SS Wiking panther:
