Panda Arleigh Burke

Anyone building this 1/350 ship? It’s not too shabby, and comes with PE parts, though an aftermarket kit from GMM or so would really make it shine. There are some raised paint guides, for example on the helo pad, but nothing that isn’t correctable. Next from Panda is the Flight IIA version, the Winston Churchill, which has the hangar deck in lieu of the aft VLS. [8D]

Sounds good so far! Maybe PANDA started out with a few ( med quality kits ) just to get started and are picking up on kit details as they go and as the money comes in? I think Trumpeter did the same thing?

True. I know their current releases, which include the F-35 Joint Strike Fighters, and the Burke, are really top-notch. The F-35s are a little lacking in some detail, but very well molded and they’re just begging for an aftermarket kit.

The Burke is a buildable kit, but I’m not overly impressed with it. It’s pretty obvious they scaled up the Pit Road 1/700 kit, judging from the layout of the parts sprues and the engineering of the kit. Still, for the price, you can turn it into a very nice Burke with a little work.
