Does anyone else have one of these awesome tools. I recently bought a Panavise standard model and a Jr. model. How in the world did I ever get along without them! Makes me wonder what other tools out there would be as useful[?]
I got one after Woody gav me a head’s up. They are a neat thing to have on the bench.
Hi, guys!
What’s a “Panavise?”
The Panavise line is made up of several sizes of bench vises that are scaled and designed for the scale hobbistist. They also offer a line of accessories for the base models. Micro Mark carries some of their line and I have included a couple of their catalog pages below. http://www.micromark.com/prodimgs/21123.jpg and http://www.micromark.com/prodimgs/81008.jpg I highly recommend these to anyone who needs a good hobby vise. I keep finding uses for mine. Dremel hand piece holder, small scale lamination press, third hand, paint stand(I slip a food storage bag over the Panavise Jr.), jig holder, etc…and of course a vise to hold the piece I’m working on.[:)]
Sweet!
I figured it was some kind of vice thingy, but I had never heard the name before.
Thanks for the info and the links! It looks like a very versatile and useful tool.
No problem! What’s the weather like over there? I have always been interested in Japan, they have a wonderful sense of center. You must get a chance to buy some great model kits. When are we going to get you on the chat room?
Hi, Woody!
Right now it’s quite cool, but the summer was terribly hot and muggy.
Yes, the hobby is flourishing here, and it is certainly quite the paradise for modelers (check out some of my older posts for more on that!).
Chat room? I’ve participated in the testing of a chat room, and it works great, but the only problem is that I’m on the other side of the world from most of ya’ll, and there’s never anyone else there! Time differences and all that.
The times I have hooked up with folks have been a blast, though!
