Paints

I have only ever bought & used Humbrol paints. I was curious if other people were loyal to the one brand or had a collection of all different brands.

hi box-stock , i used in the past humbrol paint but because the shops i get my goodies from swithed to revell and modelmasters (testors) i have to go with the flow. Do not have any bad exeriances with the others, the metallisers from testors are realy good (buffeble). greetings from Belgium ;-)))

For me it’s a matter of availability. My local hobby shop carries Testors pretty much exclusively; therefore, that’s what I buy. But I can’t complain. Their enamels, metallizers, etc. have served me well over the years. I’ve tried the others with varying degrees of success. I’m one of those that kind of sticks with what works, and Testors seems to work well.

Humbrol paints were all I used for years, until I discovered Acrylics. I only airbrush with Acrylics, because they clean up easy and don’t smell as bad. Now I pretty much use only Model Master Acryl paints.

90% of my paints are Citadel. I really got into painting when I started playing Warhammer, so that was the paints that I went with. Now, it’s too expensive to switch to something else. Besides, they’ve worked great for me for over 10 years. I also have a smattering of Testor’s, Reaper, Ral-Partha, and other acrylics. Good stuff.

I was a loyal Testor’s Model Master enamel buyer until I used Tamiya’s acrylics. Now, it’s almost exclusively Tamiya.

seems like all i ever see in my hobby stores where im from is testors, ive used it for years and never had any problems.

Hi fellow Aussie.

I mainly use Tamiya Acrylics and Humbrol Enamels due to their wide availability here Australia. Have experimented with other brands but have always reverted back to Tamyia and Humbrol

Currently I have been experimenting with Vallejo Acrylics for painting fiqures - ([:p]they have just come available here in Adelaide )

Never heard of Citadel. Is that a British or European paint brand?
