Paint those yelow lines on bombs

I have a question how the heck do you get a nice stright line around bombs and the like? I have tride masking but never get a perfectly straight line.

I saw an article somewhere might have been in FSM not 100% sure where the bombs were mounted on a dremal or other rotery tool and spun while the paintbrush was held in place…

I’ve heard of similar to that method, yellow decal strips are what some people do… I’ve head of mounting them on a toothpick as well, and spinning it in your fingers…

I know I’m stealing someone else’s idea from a previous post on this topic, but I really liked it, so I’ll pass it on:
Paint the bomb yellow. Then, get some of those tiny rubber bands used for dental braces, put them over the bomb where you want your stripes, then paint the bomb green. Viola!

Hey, that’s a great idea about the rubber bands. I’ve tried the spin method, the problem is that you have to make sure the bomb is mounted perfectly straght, or the line won’t come out right. Also, its hard to have enough paint to the stripe in one go around. I’ve also tried painting it green, after that dries, dipping the bomb’s head in yellow paint and then after that dries dipping in green again making sure you leave some yellow showing. Takes a bit too long for my taste.

I think the tiny rubber band tip is the best. I gotta try that.

hmmm… that is one cool tip there with the rubber band!

Small “O” rings also work well. My son is a mechanic. They get various sizes in brake rebuild kits – way more than they need.
