I have looked thru almost all the pages, but i cant anything on paint spatter. I have a Paasche VL, and no problems at all until yesterday. I was painting Khaki OD on a C-47, and it spattered and coughed something fierce. I clean everything everytime i use it…needle; the little conical thing; and the front doo hickey…whatever that is called. I tried adjusting the air flow but that didnt help either. Another question…how do you adjust pressure on a compressor??? I am sure that someone can help me[:D]
Could be a number of things … but the first that comes to my mind is moisture getting in your lines.
Do you have a moisture trap on your compressor … if not you probably should get one, they’re fairly cheap at any major hardware store.
To adjust your pressure, you need a regulator. If your compressor doesn’t have one, once again, check out your local hardware store and you’ll find one.
i have a moisture trap and a regulator gauge. I cleaned the conical thing again, it (from what i could see with my mini maglite) had a little someting in there. It will spray alky ok, but i havent tried paint…just a little too chilly for that today.
If you have a regulator, there should be an adjustment button on it to adjust the PSI going through your line. I have mine set at 28 PSI right now and it works great.
