paint for a T-800 endoskull

I bought a 1:1 scale T-800 Endoskull and was wondering if anyone knows what I should use for painting, I’d love to get it chromed or at least have tho look of it. Thanks in advance

Is that the resin kit that came out about 10 years ago? Do you have photos or a link to the kit maker?

You should check out http://www.alclad2.com. I think this is the next best thing to chrome plating. I have a rejected jaw piece from one of the “crew gift” heads and it looks really cool plated. I believe the crew gift heads were cast from the “original molds” so they are as close to the “real” thing as you can get. I’ve heard some of the kits and repro heads were changed a lot from the original designs.

It’s a vinyl kit, molded by surako? i want to say I haven’t gotten it i just bought it off of evilbay

I see several endo head kits that sold in the last month. I think that’s the one I’m thinking of.

I got to see the full endo a while back. Man, I’d love to have one of those!

Alclad Chrome or Polished Aluminum, or mix and match to get some depth.

Bare Metal Foil for that baby no doubt.

I’m not too good with the foil, but is there anything i need to be aware of with vinyl? any certain type of glue?

where can I get the alclad paints? it seems i need to have a company/business which makes me assume I need to order in bulk.

www.best1hobby.com started carrying them. I have dealt with them three times and so far aside from a packing mistake they are pretty good. It’s an ACTUAL STORE which you can call and confirm any problems and they are friendly enough. They ship by FedEx.

I’ve also used Best1Hobby.com and gotten good service. You should also search of Froogle.com. There are a bunch of places that sell Alclad and other hobby supplies online at really good prices.

Fair Warning on Alcad! Do not attempt to use this on a vinyl kit unless you for sure what your doing. I can’t agree more that it’s the best I’ve seen for repro’ing polished metal in paint form, BUT, it is a lacquer product and will destroy your kit in a blink of an eye. Being a lacquer product, it is ridged and won’t stand much flexing after cure. Just be real carefull if you’re going to use it and don’t cheap out on the primer coats or you’ll pay in spades. Good luck, post pic.

k maybe i’ll just use an alluminum or something then, I’d like to do it justice but I dont whant to mess it up either

I built the old Horizon T-8oo kit and used CA to put it together and Testor’s Model Master Aluminum and Titanium for the colors.
It was my first vinyl kit and I like the way it turned out. I am in the (continuing) process of addidng fiber obtics to make the eyes light up red. I just need to get the obtics hidden away.
