As per my previous post I have just received my Omni 4000.
This is my first double action brush, so I am not terribly au fait with what it should and should not do.
Therefore with the trigger full down, and full forward should there be nothing but air?
My AB was doing this on Saturday when I first used it, but on using it yesterday, I was getting paint as well in the full down full forward position. I think I might have moved the needle chuck.
Any ideas?

Correct. Triggger down and fully forward means air and no paint.
If you moved the needle chuck it’s quite possible that the needle isn’t sealing properly. I find that it’s easier to adjust the needle with the rear section of the handle removed. Unscrew and remove the rear section, loosen the chuck screw, and push the needle forward while watching the nozzle. When the needle seats on the nozzle just tighten the chuck and replace the handle section.
Don’t force the needle forward, just let it seat on the nozzle.

I noticed that the chuck was loose yesterday, so figured that must be the root cause, but wasn’t sure.

I’m sure it was. When the chuck is loose the needle can slip. Sometimes it doesn’t pull back when you move the trigger back, and you never get paint. Other times it pulls back and doesn’t go forward, and you get paint any time there is air pressure. I think that’s what happened to you
I work strange hours, by choice. We are in the Central time zone (GMT -6) and I usually work 6:30 to about 3:30. Traffic here is enough to drive you crazy and working those hours I miss the worst of it.

I have a 50 mile commute from Oxford to the edge of London, actually about 2 miles from London Heathrow, so I too start early, about 7.30 to try and avoid the worst of it.

Yep, I can relate to that. MY office is about 12 miles from home. If I leave about 6.15 it takes me about 20 minutes to get to work. If I leave about 7.15 it takes about 45-60 minutes. Same thing going back home. I love to drive, but I hate sitting in traffic!

Our all-knowing, wise, government has managed to have virtually every major highway coming into Nashville torn up for the past couple of years. Three interstates come together in Nashville. All three are torn up at some point, and one major section just finished last year. Two of those under construction are scheduled to be completed in 2007. One has been under construction for 2 years and the other just started. We have several major secondary highways, and several of them are torn up to. Those that aren’t torn up are carrying at least twice the traffic they used to.
It used to take about 45 minutes to get from one side of the county to the other. Now it takes 1 to 3 hours depending on the time of day. Progress … BAH! [banghead]
Be glad they are torned up for repairs now. There many not be any federal highway matching funds in the forseable future.
Around London we have a huge car park.
It’s known as the M25, its between 6 and 8 lanes wide, ans is full most mornings and evenings.
Some people even refer to it as a motorway…

OK, you’ve got me beat! At least traffic sort of moves here, just not very quickly.
I’ll have to mention that to my step brother and his wife. She is originally from England and they spend a lot of time in both here and over there. Bill used to work for Cosworth back in the 60’s during the Lotus heyday, and is still involved with some automotive companies over there some how. Not exactly sure of the details.
Later … Had to come back and edit this to ask if you got your Omni fixed. Just wondered if adjusting the needle took care of the problem.
MusicCity, I adjusted the needle the other night, buy have not had a chance to test it yet.
That will have to wait till the weekend.
Where I live in Oxfordshire you can’t move for racing teams, seeing as Williams F1 are just up the road as are BMW FI racing, Prodrive, who prepare the Subaru WRC cars, and not to forget Silverstone is just 5 miles away. Around the weekend of the British GP you can’t move for automotive exotica. Last year I got to watch two Lambo’s racing off the lights!!!
