i have just recieved from my wife, (bless her beautiful self[:)]) as a surprise, a Vega 2000 AB [:D]. i have been using a Paasche VL for the past 1-1 1/2 years for all my modelling painting. i was curious which one is better? i realize that both have their advantages and disadvantages, but would like to hear from people who have used the Vega 2000. i also know that it, Vega 2000, is a Thayer & Chandler design that was absorbed by Badger. So any other info, pro/con, would be greatly appreciated [^]
Neither one is any better than the other, they are just different.
I started out airbrushing with the Paasche VL and then when I got into T-shirt airbrushing I bought a Vega 2000 and ended up getting rid of the VL as I liked the feel of the Vega 2000 much better. My Vegas are the older style made by T&C and I have not tried the newer versions that Badger is producing.
Try it out and see which one you prefer. You may end up liking the Vega more or you may just want to stay with your VL.
I personally like the slim shaped airbrushes like the Vega, Anthem, Omni and others over the fatter -bodied airbrushes like the VL.
The Vega 2000 is a nice airbrush, it was my first double action which I learnt with and is still my favourite to use because of its ability to produce nice lines and its excellent feel.
