Paasche model H is older than most people realize!

I was looking at my buddy Scooter’s web site and noticed that in his collection of airbrushes he has a Paasche Model HG that is from 1932! [:0]

We sometimes forget how long these well-known airbrushes have been out. [;)]

Mike

1932!?!? i thought 40’s or 50’s, but man thats old

I do know that iwata hp-c is around 1970’s

Like many well-known tools, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Wasn’t Jens Paasche one of the earlier airbrush inventors/developers/experimenters?

Yes he was Scott.
The oldest production airbrush manufactured was the Walkup in 1885:

The Thayer & Chandler Model A came out shortly after in 1900. Olaus Wold of the Wold airbrush company was a former employee of Thayer & Chandler, as was Jens Paasche.
There are some cool pictures of the old airbrushes on his web site:

Cool site … he also has a Paasche model HH from 1925. I have to say he’s pretty good with an airbrush to!

Thanks for the history lesson!
Thickheaded lout that I am, I had never given it any thought at all.

I stand enlightened!

interesting tidbits y’all…
my “H” is almost as old…but i do think it’s the cat’s meow…

Check out this site for a good history of the airbrush. http://www.andypenaluna.com/history/hisintro.html
John

That’s pretty cool John. Thanks.

Mike

Just goes to show, if it aint broke it don’t need fixing!

Mike, isn’t the Omni based on the Vega series? If so how old is the Vega series?

Idly curious Karl

Karl,

Yes, the Omni came about after the Vega which was introduced in the early 90’s I believe.

Mike

Well, I know my H model is old enough that it still has the stipple adjuster on it. I guess that was deleted later in the design.

The best part: I just finished using it about an hour ago. [:D]

Are you telling me the Paashe Turbo has been around since 1909!!! I am having a hard tme with that.

Yes, it is true- ThePaasche turbo works on the same principle as the 'first ’ airbrush from 1879.
