does anyone know about any other variations besides the nmf and the green? i kind of want to do the green d-day style but i can’t seem to find many examples and have not seen ANY others painted any other way.
not sure how accurate it is, but i do remember some box art of a 47 painted in green and grey camo, I believe it had D-Day stripes as well. I think that I saw the kit in an older issue of FSM!!! Not sure if that is of much help, but that is my 2 cents worth!!!

Here are a couple of reviews in “alternate” schemes. THe latter is a D-Day scheme. I’ve also seen a cool looking black one somewhere. Pretty neat stuff.
Dunno what scale you’re lookin’ for but if it’s 48th, take a looksee at the Aeromaster/Eagle Strike site.
Click on the ‘decal reference’ for each brand name and then use the pull down menus to select P-47. There’s alotta sheets listed with many containing OD over NG zebra Jugs. I dunno which variant you’d like to do but most of them are Razorbacks…
Anyhoo, a good number of the Aeromaster sheets will show as ‘Not currently available’ but if you see a discontinued sheet you like some dealers may still have them (Squadron is a good place to start looking) or you can try asking around on some of the forums to see if anyone has a particular sheet. Hyperscale is a good place to find this kinda stuff.
I may also be ditching some decals soonly and maybe there will be aP-47 sheet or two in there somewhere. Any other questions, give a hollar…
Fade to Black…
The 56th fighter group, 61squadron used an interesting camo scheme of drk. sea gray and dark green. Aero master decal sheet #AMD48015 has a plane called “Ole Cock III”, that’s pretty cool that wore that scheme. Ther are also some other squadrons that used non-standard colors. Most used RAF colors and schemes. Gabby Gabreski also had interesting and different colors.

yeah, thats exactly what i had in mind. some of those wolf pack planes are cool.
I have some actual WWII color footage, and it shows a squadron of BOTH razerbacks and bubbletops in both O.D. and natural aluminum with bright orange trim and cowlings.
