P-51B In progress UPDATE:

As some of you know I am unable to get the airbrush out for a while so I am concentrating on getting loads of projects ready for paint. Here is my mustang so far, all brush painted with intrument decals cut from another tamiya kit. Gunze interior paint set was used for the green and yellow parts with Eduard belts, the wooden floor was scratch made from plasicard which I scratched grain effect into this was then painted brown then washed with black and finally dry brushed in areas of wear with tan.

Hope you like my efforts so far. And thanks for all the tips and inspiration you guys give me.

Looking good, Tecs. I like the scratch effect on the wood floor…very convincing. Keep the pics coming as you move along.

Very nice indeed! The weathering is superb.

Neat looking floor

Very nice cockpit! How exactly did you get the effects on the floor?

Man that office looks SCHWEEEET! Very nice work. Those belts make it look real. Nice IP too.

How did you do the stitching on the belts?

Thanks for the kind words guys.

The floor: I first scribed a wood grain pattern very roughly into a peice of very thin plasticard, this I painted dark brown enamel, while the paint was still wel I made some more wood grain marks with a cocktail stic. Once dry I applied a thicker than normal black oil wash when this had dried I drybrushed some areas with tan acrylic.

Stitching on the belts: I used a brush with two hairs and a very steady hand…only kidding[:o)] the belts are Eduard’s excellent pre painted offerings, cheating I know but I am no pro thats for sure.

You kid, but I have a one hair brush- made it from a cat whisker! Darn thing is pretty useful. Cat ain’t too happy with me… [;)]

(Just kidding… one of our cat’s shed the whisker. It was laying on the floor. Along with a few hairballs, some vomit, a wee-wee stain and a pile-o-surprise… durn cats.)

Tecs, you mustang looks very good. Keep it up!

Very nice mate! [tup]

The office looks great, I really like how you did the floor- its very effective!

Well its been a while since an update but some progress has been made over the last couple of days.

I am going to be using the PYN Decal sheet for Rebel Queen.

Nice job Tecs.[tup]

The pre-shading and finish look very good.

I really like the way you simulated the wood flooring. Looks well-used and very realistic.

Looking rather nice [;)]
