Does anyone have any pictures or information about a p-47d razorback "button nose "flown by 1st Lt. Albert Knafeltz? no. 42-226290 from the wolfpack 56 f.G. I found the scheme on a aeromaster decal sheet (48-659) and i want to know if its legitimate?I did a net search and came up empty, Thanky in advance , Peter.
I like that scheme too. I think Button nose is legit, in World War II fighters (Motorbooks) there is a picture of the front of the aircraft. You can see the Donald Duck cartoon on the cowl and the word button in front of the wing. I can’t see the camo pattern(the picture is not great). If there is one picture there might be more. Hopefuly others will give you more info. Good luck !
Thanks Ron for your reply, I hope I find some more pics or info.about this aircraft.
Here’s one pic of the nose art. Looks like it might have changed a bit to what’s on that decal sheet. Aeromaster usually research all their decal sheet very well, so I’m pretty sure it would be legit.

Hope this helps.
I have several decent color shots of the 56FG but here is one of the front half of Button Nose. If you look closeley you can pick up some nice details from this shot like the BMF under the wings and the worn black underwing rack.
Cheers
Thankyou Darren and Daniel for taking the time to post those pictures i really appreciate it !The colour shot is very interesting. I was hoping i might find something that would let me see a bit more of the camo scheme pattern …ah well, cant have it all.
Thanks again fellas !!!
