The Detail and Scale book states that Republic built a/c used a dull dark green for the interior, instead of interior green. It doesn’t a FSN or ANA number for the color. It has pictures of an unrestored cockpit. Does anyone know the number or another name for this paint. Suggestions for a hobby color?

I had a problem with this too! I drove myself nearly insane trying to find what Detail & Scale refered to “dull dark green”. There is no real F.S. color number for it. I found in an old issue of Fine Scale Modeler a reference to this color, and they said that the closest match is the European 1 Dark Green (if I remember correctly). I checked it out and sure enough it was! Let me check on it to verify the color and I’ll try to find which issue that was in.
according to a build review in Tamiya model magazine Feb/Mar 03 issue(modmagint@aol.com) Only Curtiss built P-47’s had interior green cockpits, and they never saw combat. The reviewer used a bronze green in this article, then drybrushed and did the usual, looks quite effective too.Hope this helps.
I double checked, and it is the Euro. 1 dark green that comes the closest to the dull dark green shown in the Detail & Scale
FS 34092

is the way it appears on the Model Master bottle, and the October '97 issue of Fine Scale Modeler is what I used to find that color with. The article was titled “WW II Aircraft Interior Colors”. I hope this gives you a good starting point! Good luck on your T-Bolt!
Thanks for the info. I was thinking that 34109 might be a match. It lines up with German RLM 25. I can’t find a manufacturer of that color. I have a bottle of Pactra Leaf Green that also looks close, but it might be gloss. I haven’t used it in years, but it still flows. I’ll look at 34092 again.
