P-40N Warhawk - Another Update

Here is another update, although it may be hard to notice what I did. The last update was about a month ago, since then I attacehd the flaps, antenna mast and antenna, the gun sight, and put in the MG blast tubes and barrels.

The first photo shows the parts before attaching. I still have to put on the last canopy piece, the pitot tube, the exhausts, and 6 navigation lights. Then I’ll add some stains for the exhausts and machine guns, maybe a couple other places too. There is also a photo from before I attached the flaps.

This is the link to my last update in May. The bottom link is to older posts that go back a couple years.

Comments, suggestions and questions as always are welcome. Thanks for looking.

Outstanding!

Looks great…very detailed. What scale is it?

Very nice build I love A/C with O.D. and white.

Coming along nicely. [t$t] Keep up the good work.

Stupendous ! (a one word reply) nuff said !!

Sorry, I guess i should’ve provided a little more info. This is the Eduards Shark Mouths Over China kit in 1/48 scale. I like this scale because I can get very detailed and still have room on the shelf for more models.

Thanks for the comments and thanks for looking.

high level build man!

really like on all aspect

That is outstanding work there.[t$t]

beautifully done!

Very nice, kielers. P-40’s are favorites of mine; as well as 1/48 scale. Is that fine wheel well detail part of the kit, or is it after market?

very sweet !! Good Job ![t$t]

Very, very nice. One of the best P-40 models of seen in a while.[t$t]

Thanks again for all the comments.

Shipwreck - Almost none of the detail in the landing gear wells is from the kit. I scratch built a lot including new landing gear doors (large and small in the main gear wells and the tail gear doors). I made the doors from soda can aluminum and a couple PE pieces. The kit wells were incorrectly shaped, too thick, etc. The stuff inside the large part of the wells is PE and copper wire hydraulic lines, and a couple other small scratch built bits.

If you go back a ways in this build thread there are photos and a better description of what I did. But it’s probably pretty far back in the forum becasue like I said earlier I’ve been working on this kit for more than two years.

Thanks again for the comments, I really appreciate them.
