P-38 "Mama's Boy" Nose Art

I would like to model the P-38 flown by Lt. Edwin Wasil, Mama"s Boy. I haven’t been able to locate any decals for this aircraft in 1/48 scale. Does anyone know if a set exists? I would also like to know if anyone has a detailed likeness of the nose art on this particular aircraft. The photos I have do not show it clearly. If decals are not available I may try to make my own. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

55th FS, 20th FG. Here’s a photo:

I don’t believe there are any decals out for this particular ship, but don’t quote me on it!

Fade to Black…

Whaz up kbizna,
A few years ago Hasegawa came out w/ a few a/c for the anniversary of D-Day in 72d.
One of the a/c was a P-38 in the markings of “Mama’s Boy” 55FS, 20th FG.
I think by now they are no longer in production and the only way you may get your hands on one is by the way of model shows.

As to the nose art if I can remember, it looks like there are some sort of trees w/ a sun rising in the back ground or it could be a moon rising too??. Its still hard to tell by Blackwolf’s photo.
I’m at work now so when I get home I can pull the box out and look[:p]
Flaps up,Mike
