Our Latest Acquisitions Since 2017

If that happened, nobody would have to twist my arm to travel to Tampa.

And I’m buying lunch AND dinner! [Y]

Hey Bruce, I’ve ordered most of my FineMolds stuff from HobbyLink Japan. It’s hard to find their armour in the US and most companies that carry it charge crazy prices. I’ve found HLJ in some cases to be almost half US prices on FM stuff. You might check Ebay too, I’ve seen some good prices there.

And yeah, thinking about picking Cherno Alpha but I thought Striker Eureka and Crimson Typhoon were cooler looking, I’d love to have either or both. And there are a few kaiju pre-finished figures but I have no idea how good they look. They might be repaintable though.

Tojo: Ohhhh looks cool, I’ve got a few Dragon M1s but I love Meng’s stuff. Ought to be a great model!

This weeks aquisitions. Looks like alot of you have been busy buying. They all look great[:D]

Holy cow, I said no arm-twisting required. [:D]

Wouldn’t that just be a hoot.

Guys, most of your latest acquisitions are more kits than my whole stash!

Went on a bit of a shopping spree today. Me and hubby got a little lucky at the casino last night, so I had some cash to spend.[:D]

1/48 Revell F-86F Sabre Jet, 1/48 Tamiya P-51B Mustang, 1/48 Revell F-14D Tomcat

1/48 Revell P-47D Thunderbolt, 1/48 Revell P-40B Tigershark, and 1/48 Revell F4U-4

Nice buys Keyda! You have to love ā€œfoundā€ money. Heads up…watch out for the Corsairs folding wings.

Keyda, that Tamiya Mustang is a real sweetheart.

Picked this one up as a Birthday gift to myself in March. Finally got around to priming him. Looking forward to painting!

Outstanding!!! I wanna see old Wild Bill Kelso ( I think that was his name) done!

One of my friends at work was cleaning out his basement, and found this. He knows I build kits, so brought it in for me.

I also got myself a birthday present. Badger Patriot.

Have used it several times, and I am enjoying it immensely.

Happy building!

Nice addition that shiny new Badger airbrush

Ohhh, nice hauls folks!

Bucksco: That’s awesome, I had no idea they even did a figure of that character!

MCF: You might want to check around before you build that Enterprise. I don’t think it has much collector value but it’s probably worth finding out for sure.

MCF, I purchased a Badger 105 a few months ago. I love the thing.

I’ve been using my 105 for a while now and sent it to Badger because it was spitting. Badger turned it around in about a week and replaced the needle bearing free of charge. I am so happy to have it back in my hands.

It’s pretty hard to beat Badgers customer service. I sent in ā€œold faithfulā€ , my old Badger 200 for service and they returned it in tip top shape. I felt the same way you did in being glad it was back ā€œhomeā€ . lol

Steve,

You won’t be dissapointed, make sure you have plenty of room to take stuff back home. The past two times I attended, Squadron opened the warehouse to us and had insane markdowns. That 1/32 Roden SE5a I am building for the RAF GB I got for like $11.

I won’t make it this year to Eaglequest, but will be in FlowerMound June 3rd for the North Central Texas Scalefest. Its a nice show as well where I got some great deals in the past.

Scott

I’ve always wanted to go to Eagle Quest. I even worked just around the corner at what was then Vista Ridge Buick / Pontiac / GMC at what was then Trinity Mills Road. It’s now the George W. Bush Turnpike and that same dealership is still there under the name of Classic Buick/ GMC. One of deez dayz…

Last year, while I was in San Antonio visiting my wife in rehab after her aneurysm, my son and I took a quick trip to Walmart to gather some supplies for her on the trip back home and to grab and quick bite to eat at McDonalds inside (Yuck) . Some of you may remember this but on our way back out to the car I saw this and immediately the wheels started turning in my head. I quickly grabbed a couple of reference shots. (I wish I could find this car to get more now but hey, I at least got a couple). I just had to make this one come to life.

Oh my Mustang, I wonder if the people who onw that car will ever see it in model form. What a trip that would be.

I use to work at Addison Airport and live in Carrolton way back in 82-83. I remember Trinity Mills…and the Addison Police Department’s Volvos for cruisers. At least I think I remember them as Volvos

Wow! Great topic Tojo and excellent discussion and kits. I hope this one lasts for some time.

I regret that I haven’t been very active on here for a few months but, it’s nice to pop in and find a fun topic to get back into the swing of things with everyone.

For about the past year I’ve embarked on ā€œrefiningā€ or ā€œretoolingā€ my stash. I had about a 100 kits boxed in storage along with others that I knew that I would never get around to building. They were either old kits that were outdated for my standards or were subjects that just no longer peaked my interest. Some of those kits were ones that I had from high school. As such, I began selling/auctioning/trading them to downsize my stash and to flip them in order to enhance my stash with more desireable kits. I must say that I have met with great success in my endeavors this far. Well, success in getting kits that I really want and not so much in downsizing. LOL! I’ve also invested quite a bit in AM stuff to go with my new kits as well as some of my existing kits. This biggest change to my stash was obtaining more 1/72 aircraft and offing a number of 1/48. This was to accomodate my lack of display space as well as rather enjoying building in 1/72.

So, with all that said, I’ll provide pics of most of the kits I’ve obtained since X-mas.

I bought myself the 1/200 USS Gato with my X-mas cash. Really a sweet kit and I hope to get to it very soon.

My venture into 1/144:

Some new armor:

Needless to say I’ve got my hands on a variety of subjects. Grown my collection of jets a good bit also. I’ll be posting my birthday goods here right directly as soon as they arrive. They’re very nice.[:D]

Cheers everyone. Tis’ good to be chatting with you all again.
