I received a Bambu A1 3d printer for Christmas. A present out of the blue, haven’t really thought about which one to get. Need to do some more research to see if it will do what I want.
My kids also decided that they don’t provide enough challenge in my life, so they decided to get me this.
I’ve done a few of these type of things in the past, but nothing on this scale.
I stopped at one of my 2 favorite hobby stores on Friday to get paint for a model that I plan to start soon. I ended up spending $90 on paint and one metal x-wing model. The x-wing was because I apparently don’t get a big enough thrill with photo etch parts. 
Just received some additional Christmas goodies! Got my Peggy bomber for the Japanese group build 2026, a large set of AK weathering pencils, Some washes, and a complete Aries detail kit for my Corsair build, as well as the Boyington decals for it. The Aries detail set is mind blowing. Contains a complete cockpit (which I have no idea how I’m to paint it), Complete engine, detailed landing gear bays, gun bays, Landing gear, cowlings, stabilizers…there are so many add-on parts that it’s going to take me a while to wrap my brain around it. Now I need to find some colorized F4U-1A cockpit pictures and figure out the paint scheme, as the Aires instructions do not indicate any painting instructions. Wish me luck!
We understand… Happens most every time I go in there, that is why they sell paint.
Picked these up for a great deal at a little hobby shop that specializes in used (estate sale) aircraft.
I looked through the P-38 kit and it looks exceptional! Will be a joy to build.

Sure would be great if they had given some paint instructions, I mean they probably know, right?
Love to see that cockpit kit as I was considering it for my USMC corsair I recently picked up.
Here’s my haul from my Tokyo trip! Got everything at Yodabashi Camera (Shinjuku and Aki). Super glad to pick up those airliners because it’s an arm and a leg to find those in the states. I love Patlabor, so I was pretty stoked to grab the F-16!
Fun! Never built an airliner, are they complex to put together? The F-16 looks fictionalized but I don’t recognize it.
How did you get them home, in a suitcase?
I’ve done their 737 a couple times and have the 777 in the stash. I really like those Hasegawa 1/200 airliners.
The new ammo missing link pens came in today! Also, to save on shipping for just the pens, I had to order a couple of kits along with the pens. Really, I had to.

Yeah! Airliners are actually pretty easy to build. Construction usually takes maybe like a few hours, but most of the work is planning and painting for a perfect smooth shiny finish. Most of the time planning and putty work is the longest for me. Most of the work will be on engine! Yep! The F-16 is a fictional one that showed up in the movie Patlabor 2. It’s a stealth version with internal weapons (and still somehow sporting a vertical tail). I know it’s not very realistic, but hey it looks pretty cool! It gives me silent eagle vibes. I’m still actually in Tokyo, but I think it should hopefully fit in my suitcase

“Hopefully fit in my suitcase”? You mean you didn’t bring the “suitcase in a suitcase”? WHAAAAAAT?! 
OK truth be told I did that in 2024, but ended up just lugging dead weight asI only filled the inside suitcase. Lesson learned, I’m taking just one suitcase this May!
But oh the glory days of the 1990s, when I’d stumble home with two large suitcases stuffed with models!
I’m a bit of a sucker for old school resin, so when these showed up at the local store from an estate sale, I just couldn’t resist.
Nice haul. I wish I had a place to go to and find things like that.
