Ummm, I added 3 to my stash as well.
Meaning you didn’t buy more kits?
More like buying more than initially planned.
Black Friday finds. I’m a USMC aircraft kind of guy, so when these went on sale at Andy’s and he was tossing in a bunch of free stuff, I pulled the trigger.
Why is the photo rotated 90 deg clockwise? Bugs me!
Over on Facebook, Daniel J Wheatcraft has a US P-47 in RAF paint. Someone commented that it’s a in field paint job and that was the only paint available.
Seeing your paint jars made me think that you were going in that direction with your P-47.
Picked this up last week, the old Monogram F-16 in good ole red, white, and blue
I remember building this soon after my parents had divorced and my mom moved us to a small town an hour south of Houston, where we had been living. I was abouty 10. Always thought the F-16 was a really sleek looking fighter, and in this paint configuration, it always looked incredibly sharp. When I found this on eBay last week, I couldn’t resist.
That p-47 is a great kit!
Went to the hobby store today. All I came out with was a small package of Woodland Scenics brand model railroad coal to use for my B-2 Christmas bomber project.
Why? Because…

I got this ICM Model A two days ago and I’ll start work on it after I finish my Revell '70 Challenger. I’ve really liked the ICM kits for antique cars and looking forward to doing another.
It isn’t here yet, but I’m getting a 1/48 Kinetic S2 Tracker later this month.
Recently when cleaning out my late MIL’s jewelry boxes, I came across her POW bracelet and decided to continue to honor LCDR Forman’s memory with a Stoof in the markings of his, lost in early '66. Continuing with the “mostly it’s in the stash because there’s a story behind it” theme…
After an Academy disaster and a mediocre Italeri kit, I’m hoping 3rd time’s the charm when it comes to F-104s…
My last purchase before Santa comes a calling is an oldie that I have never built, Revell’s Hawker Hurricane Mk. I in 1/32.
I got this on a sale from Kitlinx. The box is fairly beat up, and the instruction booklet looks like it was in a losing battle with some paper-eating bug army. The decals actually look okay for their age, roughly 57 years or so, but I’ll probably get a new aftermarket set.
When I was a kid, the hobby shops in the Houston, TX area typically stocked Monogram, Revell, Lindberg, and Aurora. Mostly I stuck with Monogram, but the 1/32 series of WWII aircraft by Revell was always a special thing for me. I built their P-40 Flying Tiger / Aleutian Tiger many times. The Spitfire, Bf109, Stuka, P-47, P-51, and Wildcat probably came across my work area (kitchen table in those years) more than once as well. But I never saw the Hurricane, or don’t recall seeing it after all these years. So I’m pretty excited to add this one to my stash.
I built a Hasegawa Lutwaffe F-104 sone time ago,I remember a straight forward build with no issues.
In case you need the instructions:
Now I have to know what the quickieeeee (real spelling not allowed…dirty minded suppression filter) stikies are ![]()
It was one of those paper inserts kits often included that you could mail in for a set of stickers, basically.
