Our Latest Acquisitions Since 2017

It saddens me a little when I think of the larger scale car ‘super-kits’ that have come and gone. This one, Tamiya’s coach series is gone, and the grandpappy of them all, Pocher.

I’m with Armornut, that’s a nice acquisition, Max.

Wow,I did that Enterprise kit back in the 80’s.its long gone now.A couple of years ago someone did a massive build log on it right here,it was impressive.

I remember those Pocher kits , they were museum quality with as many parts to assemble as the real thing. Always wanted to purchase one but the cost was too exorbitant back then , if you can find one now you might have to take out a small personal loan.

Bish,

Thanks, Esci is what got me started. Despite their age they are still pretty good kits and with some mods. and fab. they can turn out as good if not better than some of the newer issued kits.

Tojo72,

Thanks, it’s the man cave, my go to place to unwind.

I built a Pocher Ferrari Testarossa, a fella gave the kit to me. Built it with only the box art pix and a few views from the internet. He had lost the instructions. I managed to make it look like the pictures, doors opened, hood lifted, trunk as well. I have no idea if it is right but it was a cool challange…not one I want to try again LOL.

Nice haul Johnny, and 2 British Phantoms in there as well.

Agreed, they were nice kits and my first experiance with indy tracks. I still have a couple some where i think, but the box’s are not in as good condition as those.

Bish I love the Fujimi Phantoms. Remember building quite a few as a teenager. Now I wish I could find some affordable Fujimi Skyhawks

I went a little nuts at an IPMS Show in Dayton.

Which one to build next? I’m thinking Wildcat.

Are they good kits. I had been looking for some Brit ones but then i noticed Airfix are releaseing an FG.1 and hopfuly with follow with an FGR.2.

WOW! Some very nice acquisitions, gentlemen! I really like what I see!

And I have to say, what a great idea for a thread! Bravo, Tojo!

Here are my latest:

And this one that I won at my first day as a member of the Cincinnati Scale Modelers Club:

I do have one more on the way, and I’ll post a picture once it arrives.

And I forgot about this one:

The Wildcat is a gorgeous kit. The Dragon Benson is also very nice.

I just picked up the Takom Flak43 for $24. It will make one heck of a display piece.

They are. But I’m sure the airfix will be fantastic.

My one experience with a Takom kit was very positive. Hogfan, your King Tiger should be a great build, and PlasticJunkie, the Flak 43 will make a great display piece. Artillery is always great to see. I also like that Tamiya Gloster Meteor.

I knew it exsisted, but never thought I’d come across it just sitting at the local hobby shop in the corner behind the slot car track! I had already bought the Delta, and I was just chit chatting with the guys running the slot cars, and my eyeballs zeroed in on it, lol. No desicion making there, she came home with me.

Those are old molds but have spectacular molded details specially in the pits. The 102 looks fast just sitting there. The Phantom has some fit issueas with the intake side plates but some TLC and careful sanding and fitting takes care of the issue.

Something is my bucket list as a Phantomholic is to get a couple of British Phantoms.

I seem to have been getting all patriotic lately and finding myself wanting to build British aircraft. I deffinetly want to do an RAF Phantom and am looking forward to the Kinetic C-17.
