Take a look at what could very well be a big part of our hobbies future.Kind of blurs the line between modeling and art (if there really is one) Go to http://home1.gte.net/konman/AcesMenu.html to see what I mean. Cheers! John.
cool site. you cant look at some of these builds that are posted here and not argue that they are art. but you are right that site does blur that line even more.

I think such approaches to the hobby will only be as big a part of it as the individual modeler chooses it to be for his or herself.
It has its advantages, by making it easier to put a model in the historic context of its real life conterpart.
On the other hand, it does make it more difficult to discern the quality of the actual model build itself.
I still like the traditional diorama itself for scenery purposes. I don’t make many and usually just let the model stand alone on its own merits. Sometimes I think the more things you build up around the model, the more it detracts from the model itself.
To each their own, I suppose.
Yeah, and just imagine the possibilities of putting your models in historical settings fact or fiction.Making dioramas etc… I have a Tamiya Mossie here complet e with 401 Sqd decals that my dad flew over the beaches on D-Day that I would love to build and then recreate the scenery.Great hook to get the kids into our hobby too. Cheers! John.
