Hi all.
I have the 1/48 Otaki George but looking at the wheel wells they seem awfully shallow!
Molded only into the bottom half of the bottom wing , not like I am use to where the bottom of the top wing section forms the inside skin of the well.
Were they so shallow?

No, the airplane’s wheel wells weren’t that shallow. Otaki is just providing a “representation” of the well. I’m not sure if a resin aftermarket set is available, but that is one way to rectify the situation. Or. you could cut them out and scratchbuild the well. Most of the time, I just leave them be, my models go on a shelf in a case and they rarely get picked up after that so it doesn’t justify the time to me. Too many in the stash to get to!
Thanx guys. I will as you say “leave them be” or just build an inflight george with the supplied pilot figure. This and the Otaki 1/48 P-47 D were freebees so I will ust build them for fun and not go overboard on any aftermarket stuff.
