OT- New A-10 unit

Thought you guys might like to see the markings of the newest A-10 unit, the 188th “Flying Razorbacks” out of Fort Smith…

How long before we can get decals for that? [wow]

[#ditto]

Cool nose art.

I was able to attend Warthog Day at Forth Smith and shoot the event for Airshow Traveler magazine and Fencecheck.com. Here’s some photo’s that Fencecheck and Airshow Traveler didn’t use.

Note the water vapor vortex going into the intake.

The 188th’s old markings looked good on the F-16, but they look even better on the A-10. And what’s more more appropriate on the Warthog, than the Flying Razorbacks? Woo Pig Sooeee!

I agree, the Hawg logo on the Hog nose looks awesome. I loved the Hog on the Viper tail, and I’ll miss the Vipers but it’s nice to have some Hogs for me to take pictures of.

I’m in the Army. We always prefer the Warthog, to the Viper. Glad to see the change over.

TwoBobs is releasing decals for the unit. They should be ready for delivery in June.

somebody should tell eddiemiller about these markings for his hog zilla…at least for the hog decal

The A-10 community is split on the new “nose art” of the 188th, most (myself included) was hoping for something new and unique from the Razorbacks and not a “rehash” of the warthog face…which Barksdale and Pope (Flying Tigers) has covered already.

I was hoping for a new tail, gear pod, or maybe even engine nacelle design to set them apart from the rest. I’m sure “we” will all get used to it but, I think a chance to add something new to the Hawg saga was missed by the 188th. [#oops]

As an Arkansan I really like the new scheme. Now having the Hawg on the nacelle might have been kind of cool. I guess because I’m a “Razorback” I don’t see how the 188th’s markings are a rehash of Barksdale and Pope…but I could be a little biased. [:D]

If you don’t see how the Razorback nose art is a rehash of Barksdale and Pope’s then…yea…I think you may be a little biased. [:-^]
