I made the trip down to Oregon this weekend for the Oregon Modelers Jamboree. There were around 500 people through the doors, roughly 200 models entered, and a really good vendor area. I managed to come home with a few additions to the stash myself.
The aircraft tables had some excellent work on them. The 1/32 F/A-18 was especially impressive and ultimately took Best Aircraft, while the A-10 took first place in the jet category. There were some very nice helicopters as well, plus everything from WWII aircraft to modern jets.
I’ve included a sampling of some of the aircraft that caught my eye, including a few of the eventual award winners. There was far more there than I could possibly photograph.
And apologies to the armor, ships, cars, figures, sci-fi and all the other categories I didn’t photograph. I naturally gravitated toward the aircraft tables. I’m sure there are plenty more photos out there from the Jamboree for anyone who wants to see the rest of the show.
This was my first time at the Oregon show, and it was definitely worth the trip. It’s one thing to see great builds online, but quite another to be able to get right up next to them and study how somebody else did it. I came home with a few new kits, a few new ideas, and probably a few things I want to try on future builds.
