I was wondering if there would be any problems lately about ordering from overseas, namely Great Britain? I’m looking to acquire something from Hannants, and don’t want to be surprised by an unknown charge (from the government).

If you are referring to new tariffs, tariffs do not apply to purchases under $800.
(I looked it up.)
There arent any new tariffs applied to Great Britian, are there?
Thank you. Not only tariffs, but VAT, sales taxes and customs. In the meantime, I’ve decided against it as the shipping costs will negate any savings I may acquire.

VAT would be charged if you were a UK resident, shipping to a UK address. It is a country-wide sales tax – Value Added Tax. Since you appear to be not, VAT is generally removed from the amount charged at checkout.
Really check the status of the de minimus tarriff of $800. Back when the whole tarriff kerfluffle started the the de minimus exception was waived meaning that customs duties would be charged on all items purchased & shipped to the US. Formerly items less than $800 the customs duty was waived. The whole tarriff see-saw has been confusing. I asked my Econ PhD/Professor daughter what she and her colleages thought and it was her opinion that the de minimus exception was removed and duty would be owed.
I ordered some 3d printed parts from Green Stuff World (Spain) about a month ago and didnt have any problems. Shipping was only $10-12 if i remember correctly.
I have never had any issues with VAT or any other duties or taxes. There are probably minum purchase limits, or the price inclused that, or something.
Even if the minimum purchase on tariffs was removed, the seller or exporter has to pay them. Then it is up to them whether they charge you that fee or not. So try making the purchase and see what happens. If they don’t charge you then tariffs don’t apply, or they like losing 25%.
I’ve made purchases from companies based in the UK, Australia, Poland and Spain recently, no issues at all, and shipping has been fairly reasonable. They were all for small, easily packaged items though. Shipping on something as big as a kit has been about twice what I would expect to see within the US, so I’ve refrained unless the kit price has been too good to pass up, or something unavailable here.
No, the buyer pays import duties and tariffs, if applicable.
I had no extra charges ordering from Hannants recently, I just received a kit ordered from LZ Models and posted from Ireland without and taxes or tariffs. And it only took a week, quicker than some items ordered here in the US.
