I just discovered that Eduard produces a photoetch fret for the M151A2. I’d like to order one, especially since it’s “discounted” at $4.95. But before I do, I’m sure some of you have ordered from them–and I’d like to know if you’ve had good or bad luck in so doing. Or, is there a decent U.S. source for their products? (I’ve tried Squadron, but they don’t seem to have the M151A2 photoetch.)
If I were you I would look at purchasing it from a retailer such as Sprue Brothers, Squadron or one of the other many online retailers…or even see if your LHS can order it for you. Ordering just one item direct from Eduard will kill in shipping costs.
Hi Dan A-
Yes, I have ordered directly from Eduard and their are a few of things to know.
1st- They have a minimum purchase amount of $20.00. If you don’t spend at least that, they won’t deal with you.
The set I wanted cost $19.95. I was just .05 short but no go, so I found there 2009 catalog for a $1.50 (i think) and that put me over the limit so game on.
2nd- Shipping was $19.00!! That’s right, 19 BUCKS!! -nuf said.
and 3rd- Because Eduard is in the Czech Republic it took almost 3 weeks for my stuff to arrive, but then one sunny day it showed-up in the mail.
I can feel your pain. Their is another PE set I want and of course no-one has it or can get it in, so I’m left to deal directly with Eduard again. [:(]
Good luck and remember- Keep your stick on the ice,
-Ray
Well, I did wind up finding the gear I was after at Squadron–it was easily found once I realized that the part numbers were listed in a logical order! So, no need to order directly from Eduard at the moment, especially when the $1.05 more that Squadron charges more than offsets Eduard’s minimum order and shipping costs.
Thanks for the input!
