opions wanted on the Tamiya 1/100 AC

I some some 1/100 Tamiya kits at my LHS. They are reissues from olders kits but still look very nice.

Does anyone know how accurate/detailed/easy to build they are?

They’re easy to build, fairly accurate, and lots of fun!
Very cheap, too.
I have the B.A.C Lightning F Mk. 6, and it’s a very nice little kit.
And it only about cost $3.75 USD!
And people complain about Tamiya prices…[;)]

They are older kits & kind of an odd ball scale, but they do build up into nice little models.

I have a JASDF F-4 Phantom… Still yet to build it, as I am deciding on a diorama… As for it being an oddball scale. That really isnt the case here in Japan as I see it… Remember that Gundam is very popular here. Me included, and so 1/100 goes rather well with the 1/100 mobile suites for diorama’s and the like!

Good point about the scale, Chris.
Not only that, but Tamiya’s 1/100 line features a pretty good selection of kits (can’t recall the exact number), including a B-52, so the series has its own built-in compatibility! A self-contained little world of scale aircraft.
