Recently got back into armor and wanted to get some expert opinions. This Marder is going to be put in a diorama setting where the final mud and weathering will be done so it look’s a bit clean right now. Sorry about the pics, their not the best and I’m not sure if their even going to show up in this post.
Looks like a really good job. I would offer a few suggestions. First, I notice that there is very little or no chipping on the roadwheels while the upper structure is pretty worn, I would add some heavier effects to the suspension since it would bear the brunt of excess wear.
Second, the convoy light should be a blue/greenish color. I use clear sprue from the spares and paint with Tamiya clear blue mixed with clear green. Overall a very nice OOB build IMHO.
Looks nice! One small inconsistency I noticed (besides Steve’s excellent suggestions) is that the breech block is open but the lever (atop the block) is still in its “closed” position. It should be cranked back to about the 4 oclock position. HTH, Roy
Thanks guy’s, I really appreciate the advice. I see what your talking about with the wear on the road wheel’s, never gave that aspect much thought but it makes perfect sense. And honestly, didn’t even realize that was a convoy light in back, it will be changed, thank you. Very nice Marder Crockett! The breech lock is still loose I think instead of fixed, but great advice. This is why I’m here guy’s, getting advice from folks who know what their talking about.
No, it shouldn’t be… Any ideas how I could get in there and fix it? Alway’s overlooking the fine details when I get to concentrating on other items. [#oops]
