I completely sympathize with you. Silvering is the bane of all modelers. The clear coat does not work with stencils because the decal is flat. Even if the under surface is glossy, the surface of the decal is flat so it looked silvered. I think the process is not the problem. I think manufacturers should also help us solve the silvering problem. I was decaling a P-38 and the decals look good on the sheet. But when I applied them the colors became transparent to almost invisible and the stencils floated on the surface of the aircraft. A perfectly good model ruined by a #@$%^&*decals.
