How are these things? Any good? They make some interesting oddball Russian stuff, but the kits are so cheap, I can’t help but wonder if they are a waste of money.
wipw brought this up a little while ago:

Some are gems, others are difficult and some are other manufacturer’s kits reboxed.
Yep, the topic was around not too long ago. Just out of curiosity, where are you managing to find them for cheap Larry?
I like their T-34/85’s and their individual track links for the T-34. However, I think they are overpriced, they should be closer in price to the Italeri kits, IMO.
Zokissima,
Squadron has them on sale right ( according to flyer ) about $13.00
Two different T-34’s
Egytian - T-34/100 - available only aftermarket
T-30 and T-40
They’re not cheap here in Japan ($30-35 USD).
Like most of the Eastern European model manufacturers (Skif, Eastern Express), Maquette’s products are a mixed bag of excellence and substandardness. The detail, fit, and overall quality of the moldings vary wildly, even within the same kit.
With a bit of work, however, they do turn into nice models.
So, if you can get 'em cheap, and it’s a subject you’re yearning to do, I’d say go for it!
bought last year a russian 7.62 AT gun + limber and it was the same as the 2 i allready had from italeri so just build them in serie all 3 together [:D]
Thanks guys.
They make this Russian amphibious light tank which is kind of weird looking. I’m not exactly at the level of yearning, but it might be fun.
