So there is a 1944 build and a Rommel vs Monty build and a 70 Aniversary Longest day build.
I propose a GB to commemerate Operation Market Garden, the failed allied attempt to gain control of a bridge over the Rhine.

crossovers are ok
With the 1944 GB, and the upcoming late war armor GBs (one for allied and one for axis), those are such overlap for this, that unless you allow crossovers I do not see much interest. I personally am interested, but it would certainly be a crossover to one of those GBs. And a less than three month long build window may put some folks off also.
Yeah, it’s a pretty cool idea but I too am kinda overloaded right now. Plus I’m not sure I have anything that would really fit.
Its a great idea for a GB, I was hoping we would get some more anniversary GB’s this year. unfortunately I don’t have any kits that would fit, and like many, am a bit over loaded, but I hope you can get enough support.
My only reservation, like SP, is the 3 month time line. Most of the entries for this will most likely be armour, and 3 months is not much time for most builders. 6 months would normally be the minimum and that’s pushing it.
Stik, there will be no cross overs for those 2 Armour in the West GB’s, but they will run until May next year, so there shouldn’t be to much of a clash issue if people want to enter both.
Ok how about we move the date back to april and allow crossovers.
Operation Market Garden wasnt all armour. Aircraft were imperative to the mission. DC-9 transports. the gliders. The british used Spitfires as recon. The Americans used Thunderbolts for air-to-ground support.
Back to the Armour though. You have anything that was found in XXX Corp and the Panzer Division.
I woulld suggest pushing the end date to mid November. After all, the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions were kept on the line until the middle of November in Holland in the “Island” area between Nijmegen and Arnhem. Allied and German armor subjects for this GB are widespread. Aircraft as well- the initial Allied air contingent was massive between transports, gliders, and bombers and fighters flying support for the armada. Pretty much everything in the Allied Air Forces was involved.
That is a good suggestion November sounds good!
Don’t forget the Luftwaffe. There were a few Jadgeschwader dedicated in stopping the operation, JG 4 in particular.
