When is it gonna be back??? Is the name gonna change??? Are they having hosting service problems? Rob, are you out there, i know you’ll know something about this. I did’nt realize what a great site it was until it went away.
I need to know which 1/72 hasegawa kits have figures in them like the driver in the M4 halftrack kit. If anyone happens to know, the info would be appreciated.
Last I read before the site went down was that Doug was retiring completely from maintaining the site. He was going to pass on the full maintenance to Simon (?) who had signed up to help him before with updates. Simon fully plans to return the site to publication in all it’s full glory with Doug making an occasional contribution. One of the issues I think they are resolving is that Doug ran the site in the U.S. thus the .us at the end. Simon is in the UK, so they are working out the details along with the transfer of the site to Simon. Part of the name may change due to the change of the country hosting the site. So, all we can really do is wait. I’m certain that an announcement will be made once the site is back up.
As for which Hasegawa kits have figures, I’m sorry that I can’t help there. I’m certain Major Rob knows though.
Duke’s right, but the site went down unexpectedly before Simon could copy it. Doug is mailing a CD Rom to Simon so Simon can upload it to a new host site.
A domain site that ends in “.us” can only be owned by a US citizen. Simon is looking for a free or cheap host. Right now I think he is looking into a uk.org site so the new site MAY end up being www.ontheway.uk.org
I’ve got most of the Hasegawa kits, which kits are you looking for? If it is just driver figures, I’ve probably got a few kicking around that I will not be using.
The Artillery Tracker and Stuart Tank have some figures.
I also am waiting for this site to get back up and running. A great reference for us small scale modelers.

Yes the sitting driver hasegawa figure like in the m4 halftrack kit is perfect for my scratchbuild Nike hercules and launcher. Here is a picture with the sitting rifleman I glued the driver in the halftrack. The driver figure is good because the uniform is just about right and well he’s driving. I don’t mind buying another hasegawa kit I just don’t want to get another halftrack. If you know which kit matches what I need or you have a driver fig post back in here and i’ll send a PM. Many thanks for looking.
